Physical Therapist Assistant Job Details
Under the supervision of the Physical Therapist, a Physical Therapy Assistant uses physical treatment procedures to help improve mobility, strength, function and relieve pain and disability.
- Physical Therapist Assistant assists in implementing and carrying out physical therapy treatment plans under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist, including exercises, stretches, and therapeutic activities to improve patients'mobility and alleviate pain
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient progress, treatment interventions, and any observed changes. Prepare reports for the supervising physical therapist to aid in ongoing assessment and adjustment of treatment plans
- Collaborate closely with the physical therapist and other healthcare team members to provide comprehensive patient care. Offer guidance and support to patients during therapy sessions, ensuring a safe and positive therapeutic environment.
Qualifications for Physical Therapist Assistant:
- High School graduate or equivalent
- Licensed as a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) in the state of Iowa
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred
