Position Overview
A hospital in a picturesque location south of Santa Cruz, CA, is seeking an experienced Health Information Management (HIM) Manager. This full-time position offers competitive pay, excellent benefits, and a collaborative team environment.
HIM Manager Responsibilities
- Oversee medical records activities across the hospital and clinics, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
- Manage legal record management, release of information, and birth registry processes.
- Supervise HIM staff, including the Clinic Medical Record Supervisor, and provide support for healthcare providers with electronic record access.
- Serve as the HIPAA Privacy Officer, ensuring adherence to privacy regulations.
- Collaborate with various departments to maintain high standards of data accuracy and confidentiality.
Qualifications
- Education: Degree in Health Information or related field preferred.
- Licensure: Certification by the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) as either:
- RHIT (Registered Health Information Technician) or
- RHIA (Registered Health Information Administrator)
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of HIM experience, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.

- Proximity: Less than 100 miles from Monterey, Santa Cruz, and Salinas.
