Job Description
A great small short-term acute care facility in Tahlequah, OK is hiring for a permanent, full-time Medical Coding Specialist. Pay is competitive and negotiable. Come join a team that is dedicated to providing quality care to a diverse population!

Medical Coding Specialist Position:
- The Medical Coding Specialist is responsible for timely, accurate and comprehensive abstraction of physician services from the medical chart/record, utilizing appropriate CPT and ICD-10 procedure and/or diagnosis codes.
- Analyzes and resolves claim rejects and denials from the billing office related to coding issues. Also assists with billing and documentation training in daily interactions with departments and physicians and other routine training sessions.
- Identifies trends/problems in medical documentation and recommends possible solutions.
- 8 hour shift M-F
Medical Coding Specialist Qualifications:
- Coding Certification or successfully completed Coding and Medical Terminology Classes
- Employee should have a working knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 and modifier use.
- Healthcare experience is preferred
- familiarity of personal computer operations and basic knowledge of word processing preferred
